    Marinne's 75G Reef

I so hate to mention this .....you have been so good with everything so far but those margarita snails will be the first thing to die in your tank. They are a cold water snail and will not last more then a month or so. Saltwater Aquarium Snails for Marine Reef Aquariums: Margarita Snail Most of...

    is the overflow box neccesary?

Normally 4 or 5 inches. You have to fish around for the bubble that is trapped in there. If it was me I would contact glass holes and ask them what is up.

Do you have a airline in the 90 degree elbow? Sounds to me that you just need to dial it in.

Those would work. The only thing I dont like about those type of power heads is it is just a suction cup holding it on. Suction cups fail. Normally when you arent at home and then you have a power head blowing sand every where. The Hydors have a magnet. I have never had a Hydor come off the...

    Green Hair algse

Could be, that is a big way to get phosphates into the water. Cut what ever you are feeding in half and see what happens.

    Need HELP!! Emergency!!

The only thing you can do is a water change, check the water and ride it out. If the remaining fish are eating that is a great sign. Dont over feed them in a rush to try and make them better. Check all your equipment and make sure it is working correctly.

I use a hob filter it can work as long as you get rid of the bio crap, no wheels, no bio mesh/mat just the cartridge that you change weekly. I would not use crushed coral. That stuff just collects crap and will be a problem over time. Get a good quality hob skimmer, reef octopus makes some good...

    Green Hair algse

Has to be getting phosphates from somewhere. I would increase the clean up crew that should help with whats there. As far as locating the fuel they are using....thats the big search. You have been doing this long enough I am not going to list the usual suspects. Go over it again, has to be there....

    New Reefer Question

As far as ph and salinity, the most important things with these is stability. Ph is going to naturally change through out the day. At night it is lower then in the day, or lights out is lower then lights on. To combat this many of us run refugiums on a reverse light cycle then the main tank. My...

    Homer`s 105 gallon tank build

Nice update, I agree Russian women are beautiful. I have a cousin who went to Russia and brought one home and married her. So tempting...Anyway...My snails cruise all over the sump and the tank. I have found them surfing on the return to the hob filter, seems to be a favorite place for them. In...

    210 gallon sump or filter

The only real way a sump will become a nitrate factory is if you have bio balls and/or sponges in it. Bio balls build up a bunch of junk and just get nasty. Sponges for controlling bubbles need to be rinsed every few days. I keep my sump simple. Intake area with a protein skimmer, next refugium...
