Got a test kit and results

IF it has been running for a year that is a different story, just have to let it cycle and do some water changes to minimise damage. Otherwise you risk losing your fish. Good luck :)

    small anemone

To be honest, I dont like this kind of experiment, you took something from the wild and are now playing with its life :( But, it is a great looking experiment.

    Placing corals on live rock.

It all depends how strong your lights are as well, generally soft corals will need a much lower lighting level so they can be placed on the bottom of the tank. SPS need a really high level of light so they go toward the top and LPS can live from the bottom to the top depending on how strong your...

    Lighting cycle for my reef

Definitely stop the light plan you have. It is unhealthy imo. Try to get about an 8 hour period. Like little fish said, from 12 onwards is normally a good idea. Also, how old is your tank? Because having an anemone in a young tank is very dangerous

    High Calcium levels?

All test kits can go bad, normally, you change them once every 6 months. They have a shelf life. But, dont worry, I honestly dont see it as a problem

    hair algea GRRR!!

Sea Urchin! They eat that like crazy, the other thing is like above, more water changes, less feeding. Maybe clean your skimmer more often as well

    High Calcium levels?

To be honest, I dont see that as an issue unless your alkalinity drops. But it seems to be in a good balance. Dont worry about it unless you see your alkalinity take a dive or your calcium continue to rise. But, could your test kits be wrong?

Hi I am the new guy

Ammonia should not be noticeable at all if yoru cycle has finished. Ammonia is eaten up by bacteria which will then multiply and turn the ammonia into nitrites, then nitrates. When you have 0 ammonia and nitrites you are safe to add fish and corals. Then, you decrease your nitrates through water...

Hi I am the new guy

I would have thought still having ammonia would mean dont add fish yet. He will probably be fine, but should wait till your ammonia is at 0. Welcome to the site :)

    Suggestions on fish

Well, anemones are not generally low light. So if the anemone is moving and not good in color, take them out. You could get a flame angel, they are excellent fish but have a 50/50. I love the lawnmower blennies, as long as the tank isnt young because they like to graze all day. Purple firefish...

    More questions

The I would think you would be fine for your tank. Sps would be ok, but im not sure if it is 100% enough for SPS, but everything else will grow with no problems. :)

    More questions

IF the lighting fixture has reflectors it will be enough to keep everything, but only just imo. you dont have to do anything special to the rock, put it in and put at least one peice of live rock and all rock will come alive.

    Clowns fighting

Yep, clownfish are f'ing retarted. They choose to beat the shit out of each other till the female bigs becomes big fat and dominant... actually, that sounds like a few relationships I know! hahaha. the fighting will die down eventually :)

    Dry rock in sump

So when you cycle your tank, it goes through ammonia, which comes off your live rock, or dry rock that has dead stuff on it. Then turns into nitrites, then nitrates. Your best to let it al lcycle together and create the right bioload for your first fish. I would just leave the rubble in the...

    Mini Maxi Carpet Anenomes

+1 LF, I had a nem disappear in the rocks for a long time, found him white, he now stays in the light. My other nems are very happy and healthy though. If I were you, I wouldnt feed him, all the energy he is using to eat he needs to use in order to get better. Just make the water quality...
