    Why's my anemone crumpled

What kind of anemone is it? Yes, generally after shipment or transfer from the lfs to your tank they tend to expel and expand trying to flush their system out. The stringy stuff could be zooxanthellae it is expelling from the stress. I wouldn't be alarmed unless it kept doing it.

    CUC?

I start adding after the cycle. Start small and then increase as your bioload increases. www.reefcleaners.org is a good place to go, John is really helpful in helping you get what you need.

i have two things that are all over my tank and i have no idea if they are good or bad

Hi and welcome to Living Reefs! The white things are sponges and are harmless filter feeders. The things by your leather corals are aiptasia. They are pests and can multiply very quickly. Get some Aiptasia X and nuke them. One of them looks very big compared to the smaller one between your...

    Anemone Health

I agree with fastrd400. The RBTA's appear healthy but if one of them is moving something has changed that it doesn't like. They are very resilient anemones so that is a plus. Mine haven't moved in years. Hopefully it will settle for you soon.

    PVC Pipe

Usually you want the live rock on the glass and then add sand. I have never seen anyone do live rock the way you are describing. With that said, I'm not saying it is a bad idea but you would have to make sure your live rock is very secure so it doesn't avalanche.

Looking for Feedback on my Aquarium Plan

A protein skimmer is not necessary in your size tank but you will need to be diligent with weekly water changes especially as you get more stock added. I would start with a couple of fish from your list, with cuc in place and coral and see how it goes. If you are able to maintain your water...

Looking for Feedback on my Aquarium Plan

Hi and welcome to Living Reefs! Looking at your plan I see a few things. 1) I know it doesn't seem like it but that is a lot of fish for a 20g tank. I like to push the limits on fish myself and it can be done but you will need to do it very slow. You need to be relentless with your water...

    Unique Reef Fish

Triggers and puffers are a definite No because your tank will be too small. Go to www.liveaquaria.com and look in their nano fish section to get some ideas of what would be compatible with your tank size.

    Help Identifying!

Hi and welcome to Living Reefs! The first pic is a sponge--- harmless filter feeder. I think the second pic is sponge as well but it is harder to tell in that pic. I don't see anything to be alarmed about.

    Help! What's wrong?

It looks pretty good to me from the second pic. When they are trying to expel waste they can look ratty and deflated. If you feed it give it small portions. It is a lot easier for them to handle as far as digesting. Big swings in your parameters can also make them look bad so even though your...

    Why's my anemone crumpled

That is typical behavior of BTA's. They like to plant their foot in a crevice in the rock work and stretch out toward the light when they need it. You want to light acclimate the anemones as you do coral especially if you have really intense lighting.
