Reefing newb
Hello!,
Just thought I would post some pictures of my biocube hqi that I started about 6 weeks ago. I used carib sea pink fiji sand and cycled my aquarium using 2 raw shrimp since starting my tank I have installed custom led, intank media basket and fuge basket im running filter floss, purigen and chemipure elite with some chaeto algae, for refugium lighting im using the coralife refugium light that mounts on the back of the biocube. I have a koralia nano 425 powerhead, marineland 1100 submersible pump, Oceanic uv light and the Oceanic protein skimmer that works great after I changed the pump. I also made a cave out of some dry rock that I purchased through Torsten from www.eco-reefer.com . let me know what you guys think.

Looks like you have lovely set up! And you are off to a great start! I would keep an eye on the starfish though, the ones that are pointy arent usually reef safe.

Thanks for the compliments everyone, no I havent hit diatom bloom yet and i've heard mixed review about that starfish so far so good. Worst case scenario i just take it back to the lfs.

At the store it was advertised as "atlantic thorney starfish" but I've been told its a "red thorney starfish" its very cool to watch it moves really quickly

pics of some corals and a clam that I added.
