Anemone

I was just wondering what is the reason for having one other then they look cool , do they help your tank at all ?

They don't do anything special...they just look cool. People get them for their clown fish not knowing clowns don't need them and will happily host other corals instead.

It IS very cool to watch the symbolic relationship a clown and anemone can have, however there is no guarantee a clown will even host an anemone if you have/get one.

what dcan and Smitty said...

they look cool but that comes at a very steep price. That price being a complete nuke of your tank if it dies. Nems require special care like intense lighting and a mature tank.

Clowns will do just fine without a nem

I had one for my maroon clowns. Otherwise they host in a rock cave... and then I never see the male. And not everyone gets them because they think clowns need them. I just like them.

Yes they will. Pics throught the life of my tank.
