Tank Shadow Problem

I have a problem that i didnt think of after I put up my new light fixture. The metal halide sits directly above the center brace on my 55 gal tank which puts a shadow down the middle of the tank as you can see in the picture. I have read that you cant cut the brace out because it is a suport to keep it from bowing. I have read about people cutting it out but replacing it with a clear acrylic piece. Somebody please help!!!

Don't cut the brace... Can you try to raise the lights? Have somebody watch the front of the tank as you raise and lower the lights to see if that helps.

I was thinking that if you put a power head in the middle at the surface it will reduce the contrast of the shadow and lit areas by adding a shmmer effect.

Cut the brace? Oooo, I would do some research. That sounds like a bad idea.

That sucks. I'm sure someone has an answer for you. I think yote said putting some reflective tape or something like that helped on his tank.

I would only cut the brace if i could replace it with a clear acrylic brace. Which i have read some people have done.
