Project5k and the new 75Gal salt tank

I'm having a software issue with my camera tonight so i'm gonna be working on that and then i have a bunch more pictures to put up now that the water is clearer and i actually took a few min and cleaned the front glass so you can see inside the aquarium.. hehehehe

the lights inside the cabinet are 2 36 inch t-5 under cabinet fixtures, (single bulb each) that i got at homedepot for like 15 each, there is NO shortage of light under that cabinet, i'm actually considering disconnecting one of the lights and seeing if its enough, cause the inside is white, so it's really bright...

yea, we only had one OW MY FINGER OW MY FINGER moments, other than that, it was really pretty relaxed, i was nervous as hell, but i'm so glad it went as smoothe as it did...

ok so here is a whole mess of pictures for ya from after the move today

yea, i've gotten to that point in my life where if i dont do that, i end up wasteing a bunch of time trying to trace this or follow that, its just easier while its all apart, to just label them...

not to mention that its kinda an old habit that i picked up back when i lived in florida and was building the security switching and control racks for the newest disney south garage parking structure.. we labeled every single connection, and if they inspector ever found one wire not labeled you lost your contractors badge and you were excorted off property.

oh, and i gues you can tell i still need to move a little of the sand around to fill in the eggcrate, but i imagine that between the clownfish digging and the snowflake eel re-arranding the sand in other parts, that they wont do it for me if i wait long enough...

just a short update, the lights havent come on yet this morning, but from what i can see so far, looks like everyone is back to thier normal night time routines...

it was I that didnt get his fingers out from under the tank fast enough. got my right index and middle finger. and yes they hurt today.

Ted busted open his knuckle trying to open the bucket of salt, then i showed him a new way to open thoes screw on lid buckets that dosent cause bloodloss.

I'm just glad its over, and done... i started my new sump today, i had the glass from a couple weeks ago, but i had to run to the LFS and get some silicone, (my olde tube got left out in the shop, and thoes 130F temps poped the tube and cooked it dry.

i thought about getting the cheaper stuff at homedepot, but i just dont need that much, so i just got the little tube, and a coupple toys, an amonia meter that stais inside the tank, and a realtime salinity meter, so we'll see if they were worth the cash, and i got some salt for the water changed to come in the next few weeks...

so i was stairing at my tank today, and i spotted some things i've never seen before... thought i'd share and see if yall can id 'em

Looks good project. What all is going into your sump? Are you going to set up a algae scrubber and/or refugium?

I have no idea about the white trumpet looking things. But Sniffles is right about the others, there tiny feather dusters.
Thats a good looking sump to.

Yeah, I agree with the feather duster diagnosis but am also confused by the trumpets. If I had to guess, I'd say some kind of sponge, but a better pic would be great.

ok, i'll try and pull out my BIG lense when i get home and get some more detailed pics...

I kinda figured on the feather dusters, but i thought i'd ask.

yea, that sump is gonna hold the ATO, Heaters, Skimmer, Verticle algae scrubber, and return pump, maybe a few extra chunks of live rock, then seperately i'm gonna have a calurpa/cheto/red mangrove DSB Fuge on the shelf above the sump inside the stand.

you can see the little sharpie marks i make on the sump to measure it all out...
oh, and did anyone notice how i did the baffels? there are 2" wide glass spacers between each baffel, that way its really strong and i dont have to wory about the silicone letting go on just the glass edges(look realy close, you'll see what i mean)

the only drawback to that particular design, is that i wish i had gone with 2-1/2 inch spacing rather than just 2" cause my fat forearm wont quite fit betwen the baffels now....

more pictures, about the best i can do with what i have to work with....
