more question's about fraging

imdaring

love my reef
OK with a frag tank do I need to put live sand in the bottom or can it be bare??

where can I get egg crate so I can make a shelf?

The sand is really up to you... I would go bare bottom, just because with a smaller frag tank you dont want sand blowing all over.

Egg crate you can pick up at home depot I think.

Most people have their frag tank plumbed into their main system. If yours will be a stand alone, what will be your filtration? To raise coral frags, the water quality must be very high.

My filtration is live rock, live sand and a refugium. A few crabs and a snail or two. Assorted bristleworms and bristle stars--all hitch hikers that I just left in there. None of them are dangerous to my frags. Seams to be working. How fast will they grow? I dunno. Would they grow faster in a bare bottoom tank? I dunno.

Well for my filtration I will be going with a canister ?? do you think I should also make a small fuge out of like a plastic container also?? I'm really excited to do this I can't wait to get things going. I would like to use it for a little extra cash on the side, I'm a stay at home mom and it has been 13 month of not working and not having my own money kinda sucks this could help my reefing habbit

here are my 3 reasons for staying home and not working
Pic 1 is my some Bailey he turned 7 in Aug
Pic 2 is my youngest Jayden He will be 1 on Sat the 27th
Pic 3 id Hubby and I
Pic 4 is my middle child Megan and she will be 4 in Dec

I love to stay at home with my kids but I sure would like to have a little cash and not feel guilty for spending it on somthing that we really didn't need, you know what I mean

you have an absolutely beautiful family. I chose to stay home with my son too. I am so glad I did. I get to see every change (and tatrum:S) he goes through:)

A canister filter will be okay, but you have to be very diligent about cleaning it often (once a week or so). If you don't clean it regularly, your nitrates may get high.

Great pics. You should not feel guilty. Raising kids is a 24/7 job. You deserve to treat yourself once in a while.

great looking family my wife stayed home for 2 years to take care of our kids but had to go get a job so we could pay our bills.
