Fuzzy white pod

I now have about 4 of these throughout my tank, 1 on the filter, 1 on the heater, and two on the back wall of the tank. They are about a half an inch long, white sponge? Or is this some detrimental organism I haven't seen yet?

Yes pineapple sponge. They are a sign of extra nutrients in the tank. I had hundreds and they got really annoying, but eventually died out when I brought my nitrates under control.
