What type of algae is this

Hi -

I plugged out this algae from my rock. It has been growing there a while now. The texture is tough and thick. You cannot just pull it off with your fingers. I had to use tweezers to do it. The algae is in several areas of my rocks. It does not appear to be growing rampant. But I want to be a head of the game. They are very small in size...it's about the diameter of a half of a dime.

So, what can I do to rid of it? What kind of algae is it? Should I be concern about it?

Thanks!

David

It's hard to tell what type of algae it could be, but I would suggest adding a few different snails to your cuc if you haven't already...turbo snails seem to eat various different algae.
