Tank cleaning

I just did a major tank cleaning tonight. I found a lot of hard white spots on the back of the tank. What are these and are they bad? Also, my wet/dry filter always get full of "dust", so everytime I add water it clouds up the water. Can I put a hermitt crab in there to eat it? I think the dust maybe detris, but not sure. I have sponge filters but they only hold back most of this.

Both are perfectly reef safe!

I've got millions of those spirorbid worms. If you look real close you'll see they're kind of a sprial shell. Just be careful when cleaning the glass with a mag float since they may scratch the glass.
