What is a good brand and a good place to get a protein skimmer?

the reef octopus skimmers are awesome skimmers. Like all skimmers get one rate for twice your system size.

For buying them, i would just shop around online and see which of the various aquarium places has them the cheapest. Some good ones are dr. fosters and smith, marinedepot, fish need it (those are what i can recall off the top of my head). You can check out the vendor evaluation section to get some other idea about where to get stuff.

Yup, a lot of people on here are goetting the Reef Octopus, they are very good, and good price.

I got a reef octopus extreme xs-200. It's gotten a huge amount of stuff out of my water and the nitrates are noticeably lower (like 10 ppm lower).
