Skimmer/overflow

Is it possible to have your overflow plumbed directly into your skimmer??
If so does anyone have any pictures, knows any threads, or websites pertaining to this??

You mean, from overflow, to skimmer and from skimmer to sum and from sump back to DT? or do you mean from overflow to skimmer and back to DT?


what exactly do you have in mind?

You can feed a recirculating skimmer from the overflow, but not a single pass skimmer.

my overflow dumps into a chamber in my sump where my skimmer is placed, the water then is pumped 80% back to DT and 20% to refugium. Hope thats any help.

i dont understand your design. Why is only 80% sent back?

my buddy has a huge skimmer that is fed from one of his overflow lines and has 4 recirculating pumps on it and has a gate valve to adjust flow back to sump. so overflow is external and drains into sump than pumped back to display tank.

oh i thought there might have been a way to plumb it directly into the skimmer without the use of a sump chamber, i was just being curious.
