I failed Kobayashi Maru
Just thought I'd share this picture I just took of my nitrate test, just to show the awesome power of a fuge (and the skimmer helps, too LOL).
Basically, the 125 setup is only around a month old, as some of you know, and the 45 has been set up a year now, with a fuge and crappy berlin red sea skimmer. I have only done a few water changes on the 45 over the past year. The last time I change the water in the 45 was when I moved the livestock to the 125g, and changed out the lost water (around 10%) so I could put the 10g inhabitants in the 45. But notice....the 125 already has noticeable nitrates already whereas the 45 has 0ppm. Both tested at the same time, with the same amount of time to settle. Neither have received a water change, as of yet.
