Shells in a tank?

When my daughter was in Florida, she picked up some shells on the beach and brought them to put in my tank. Is this bad for the tank?

Nope, I'd just clean them first. I'd boil them.

I cure them just like I would LR. They will slowly dissolve. Everybody in the world wants to drop their shells into my salt tank.

Shells are fine. I usually drop them in bleach for a few mins to clean them, then soak them for a few hours in RO water with a dechlorinator. I mount lots of frags to shells.
