is it a bad sign if the star is climbing glass? It has done this twice in the last week

mine does it every now and then, I dont believe it to be uncommon. I have heard other talk about it.
How long has your tank been set up? sand sifting stars really should have a tank that has been set up for a while for them to have enough critters for them to eat.

Its not uncommon for them to climb the glass.

tank set up since 3/1/10, LFS told me it would be fine. Then I have read it was to early. But I do put pieces of food in sand for him twice a week.

I think that actually perfer the live stuff in the sand,but will also take suspended stuff off the waters surface.
