Plastic Barrel for mixing salt and RODI water

I have gotten a 30gal plastic barrel from a local carwash and want to convert it to a storage tank for mixing my RODI water. Couple questions:

1) is there a website that has good directions on how to put in a faucet or the such at the bottom of the tank?

2) is there something i should rinse the tank with besides water to ensure it is clean?

3) can the lid be pried off or does it have to be cut off?

What was in the barrel before hand? If it was some sort of soap, I wouldn't use it at all. Get a new unused barrel.

You can also get something called a uniseal. They are a rubber grommet that gets put in a hole you drill then you insert a piece of PVC into the grommet. You then can put on a valve to control the water coming out.

It was not soap per se. It was "dri rinse" and did not really foam when i rinsed it out. Any reco on where to buy these things cheaply?

If the barrel is not a "Food Grade" barrel, do not use it. You could get a Brute Trash Can from Home Depot or Lowes that would work well too.
