Hey all , just wanted to ask about water changes and nitrate. Do i change 20% every day or week to lower it?

Really depends on high they are at the moment and how large your tank is. I do weekly 10-20% water changes. Althought its main reason is for trace element replenishment not to lower nitrates. You need to ask yourself why your nitrates are so high. Over feeding is a big one.

i think it was the over feeding , came home and noticed a lot of food in there. And my doughters had big smiles on their faces.

change 20% or even more(depending how high, no more then 50) then test the water and see where your at then I would wait a few days to change again if necessary, then test the water again to see.. In between waterchanges you want to let things settle back in before changing more..
