Moving on up

Can someone please advise or share your thoughts?

I'm moving up to a 10 gallon from the little Fluval spec (might try some coral work in there)

But I have the mild ammo spike happening on day 2, have neutralized the ammo, but how long should I wait till I add the fish? Should I just transfer to a newly cycled tank or should I add the fish and the old 2 gallons to partial new cycle

Well if the tank is cycling, you may as well wait. The ammonia will spike then the nitrites then nitrates. When your nitrates are present but there are no nitrites and ammonia, add them in. It is dangerous and stressful to add fish to a cycling tank. Just give it some time and it will be fine :)

btw, it takes about a month for the cycle, so thats about when you should add fish, after a month when you know the cycling has finished

I would wait for ammonia and nitrites to go down to zero. Once they are at zero, you can move the fish over.
