live rock

ok I know this guy who says he has 100lbs of live rock, but he says its been out of water for some time. So my question is, is there any way that if i was to put it back in water it would grow anything on it again. i can still use it but was just wondering if it would still be possable for anything natural to grow on it. I went to my lfs but got diffrent answers from difrrent employees. so am turning to you for additional info:frustrat:

if there is other live rock in the tank that hasnt been dried out then yes, if itll just be that rock then no.

Dustin is right. You need some other source of live rock to seed the base rock
