I just don't know how my nitrates can be 0.

I might need a second opinion on my ph levels. It's hard to tell what color it is.

Well I thought that nitrates were always a little above 0. Especially since I just got two fish.

I would not consider that reading low. As long as it is stable in that range it's perfectly fine, as the suggested acceptable range is 7.8 - 8.5. But Eli may also want to check the Alk because low ph values can cause problems with calcification in corals if the ALK is very low.
