heating water ???

Hello everyone and Merry Christmas. I had a R/O unit installed in my house today, the water is ice cold. my question is can i heat the water up a little to room temp or will it hurt my tank?

It will do more harm to add the ice cold water.

Throw a small heater in your mix up bucket and bring the water up to room temp at the very least, tank temp would be ideal though.

I wouldnt heat it in a metal pan. It will leach metal into the water. Aluminum is a common metal in cookware. It is also toxic to corals and inverts.

If you need a quick heat up, zap it in the microwave in a glass bowl.

Thanks BJ i just remembered i have an extra water heater for a tank, i just put that into my bucket and will go from there. thanks again.
