Hair algae and gfo

for the past week I have been running rowaphos in a reactor to decrease po4 and get rid of hair algea. I have also been doing weekly water changes with 0 Tds rodi water. How would I tell if the algae is dying?

Usually starts turning white. It also becomes easier to syphon out. Try to get as much as you can syphoned out during your water changes because the dying algae releases the nasty's back into the water.

It's gone from green to a dark brown color. What's a good method to siphon it out?

I use a piece of rigid airline tubing and airline to remove it. Good time to do a small water change.
