Now I know this is a newbie question and I tried to research a little before I asked my GSP came out of the coral but when I turned of the light the poylps went int hiding is this normal??

Yes most corals retract at night.

What kind a light are you running,and what kind of light was they under at the store?
If you got more light than they was getting,then they may do that untill they get acclimated to yours.

I need to read slower.If it dark,then its perfectly normal for them to close up.

Many corals including GSP are photosynthetic and will close shop or shrink when the lights goes out.It perfectly normal.
