corals getting drab

DUSTOFF MEDEVAC
My corals are starting to fade (especially the eagle eye zoos) - think it's more likely to be lighting, water quality, or additives?
I'm running T5s (4 mos old) and doing weekly 15% water changes, so I think the lighting & supplements (from the water change) should be good...

AM 0 Nitrite .1 Nitrate 2.5. I don't feed them much and I do weekly water changes and that's as low as I can get them...trying to get them better.

Yeah, I've been trying to get it down, just did a water change too. I'm starting to wonder if it's a bad test kit, going to get a different brand today and check it out - it's been like that for a WHILE and it just won't go down...nothing seems to be affected by it, which is weird.

I'll bet your nitrite kit is bad.It should be reading zero,or you'd probably alreadt lost some corals and fish both.
Could be that your magnesium is a little low too,but thats just a guess.

I got an API test kit and it read 0 on nitrites! Kind of sketchy that the marine lab one was off by so much, seems kind of strange that it'd be possible for chemicals to be inaccurate like that. I guess there's the possibility of contamination or something..

So levels are good, not testing for magnesium...I was looking at coral supplements today at the LFS (ended up buying a big piece of base rock & some more nass snails too) but couldn't decide what I needed to get to help my corals.
