When purchasing corals, how would I know the size to start with? Buy really small all the time? For a 60 gal. small and medium corals purchases should be the norm? Soft corals that is.

Soft corals grow so fast you can by little pieces and they will get big fast. Most people prefer to buy small frags because they are much cheaper than full colonies. So the right size frag to buy is one that your wallet can afford.

+1 lil fish I bought these a couple of weeks ago and think a few heads have already popped up. Of course they were only $5 which saves me a bunch of money for more.

Matt, it looks like you have hydroid jellies growing on that second frag. You need to get rid of the ASAP, they are some of the worst pests you can get. I would apply some kalk paste and then superglue to them.

I think Hannah meant to say colonial hydroids, not hydroid jellies. :) But she is right -- they are huge pests. You want to smother them to kill them.
