What effect would different colours of lighting have on a tank. Additional magenta like in my case? How would it effect the growth of cyano, diatoms, hair algae, Coraline and such? I know magenta lighting is typically used for freshwater planted aquariums to promote plant growth. How about too much actinic? Not enough Actinic? Just curious.
Right now I'm running 2 48" t5 units. Rear unit is 1 10,000k and one actinic. Front unit is running 2 10,000k bulbs. I also have a 48" stuuner strip that is 1 white led to every 2 blue leds, plus I'm running a 12" stunner with only blues. In addition I have a 12" stunner that is blue and magenta.
With the equipment I just listed, what would be YOUR suggestion an colours (temps) and or bulb selection? Its a fish and softy tank.
