Chalice?

Went to the LFS to trade some stuff in and i saw this, im pretty sure its a chilli pepper chalice but the guy wasnt sure what it was. He said he wanted 80 for it, its about the size of my fist maybe a lil bigger, is it worth it and do you think it would need MH lights>? Sorry for pic quality.

All I can tell you is Chalices don't need strong light, in fact most of them do better at the bottom or partially under a ledge. However different types of bulbs can really enhance their colors, as does many other corals as well. Chalices have eyes and you can spot feed them at night when their feeder tentacles come out from the eyes.

Ha, well totally not worth it to me. 80 bucks is kinda steep, id rather buy somethin i really want but i wont be buyin sheet for a while as i have a ton of sheet i need to pay off. Time to sit back and just let my tank do its thing.

I agree, it's just not nice enough to cost $80. Spend the money on the more important stuff, and soon enough your corals will be big enough to make some frags off of, and then trade the frags in for whatever.

Chalices are nice, but they are slooooooow growing. I get impatient and frustrated with mine.
