Bacterial Bloom

K so my tank has been up for a about a month and a half now. Everything is going great but I am experiencing a milky cloudyness to the water now for the past week. I took out about 1-2 lbs of live rock in my 20g to make a mod for my algae tumbler and I think this resulted in a bacterial bloom. The skimmer also isnt working which makes me think it is one for sure. All parameters are in check and all inhabitants are doing great. Just the cloudyness of the water and the skimmer not working are my problems. Anyone have any ideas or experience with how to get rid of the cludyness or kick start the skimmer? They say skimmers with sometimes fail during blooms because of the oils produced by the bacteria but the skimmer is needed to remove the bacteria. A vicious cycle. Thanks

Dont worry, it will burn itself out shortly. Its pretty common to get this in new tanks. Can try cutting down on feeding and your lights to limit the nutrients its growing on to try and speed the process up.

Hang in there!
