Ammonia question

I just did a test on my water levels and my nitrites are at 0 - .1 my nitrates are at 2 and my ammonia is at .01 mg/l. Should I do a partial water change?

Did you get a new tank that isn't cycled? I think you're supposed to have ammonia spikes when cycling the tank.

agreed, but there are other reasons for ammonia spikes. like deaths, illness, and lack of filtration. whats your setup equipment? and how old is the tank?

Yes. do a water change. Do you have livestock in your tank? or is it cycling? If you have livestock in your tank, do a water change, keep monitoring it, and keep doing water changes every day until there is no longer an ammonia reading.
