COMMON NAME - African Flameback Angel fish, African Pygmy Angelfish

RANGE - Somalia, Coast of Oman, South to South Africa, east to Maldives and Mauritius, the Seychelles, Mascarene Isolands, chagos archipelago.
MIN. AQUARIUM SIZE - 30 US Gal. (114 L)
FOODS AND FEEDING - Varied diet. Frozen preparations that contain marine algae, spirulina algae, mysid shrimp finely shaved shrimp. Feed at least 3 times a day if not in an established aquarium with healthy microalgae growth.
AQUARIUM SUITABILITY - 8
REEF COMPATIBILITY - May nip at large polyped stony corals, soft corals and zoanthids, oral disc of anemones, will eat decorative algae.
CAPTIVE CARE - May be aggressive once settled in, does best in a tank with filamentous algae for browsing. Also see the Cherub angel fish having similar needs.
