    Bubble algae?

I'm really hoping someone says, "no, that's a <whatsamahoosit> and they're really safe", but I have a bad feeling this is bubble algae...I only see one, and it is about the size of a pea...feedback appreciated...

Oh, the little white dots...missed them the first time. Then what they said ;) most likely snail eggs. I get them a lot (so often I don't even pay attention to white dots on the glass anymore), and have even had some baby snails, which I'm sure became food...

    Clear slime and tube worm

I have two photos here, one has some clear slimy looking stuff, and I'm wondering is that a sponge, algae, or something else? The other shows some tube worms, and I'm curious exactly which kind of tube worm they might be? Thanks in advance :)

    Fuzzy white pod

I now have about 4 of these throughout my tank, 1 on the filter, 1 on the heater, and two on the back wall of the tank. They are about a half an inch long, white sponge? Or is this some detrimental organism I haven't seen yet? Thanks for the feedback :)

    Nitrates

I will definitely try this. I feared the sand was contributing, have even stocked up on some Nassarius' to help move the sand a bit. As for skimmer, I have a Corallife 65g that I was using. When I had my first 55g tank the skimmer wouldn't stop micro bubbling, I couldn't use the bulky thing on...

    Nitrates

As for the sand, though I stir it up now and again, I have never vacuumed the sand bed. Sorry to sound stupid but, they make a vacuum for sand? I have a gravel vacuum/water siphon but have never used it on the sand because it seems like the sand would come out with the water.

    Nitrates

The short history of my tank..last March I had a 55g with 5 fish, I began to have ammonia issues, admittedly it was my inexperience as you can tell by the timeline here, as I was a new hobbyist. As chance would have it, in the middle of trying to deal with the ammonia in June, my tank suddenly...

    Nitrates

Upgraded back to a 55 in September 2013, so it's been 6 months. The Nitrates have been pretty consistently 40 since the beginning of November.

    Nitrates

So I need some advice. My Nitrates are consistently at 40. I make my own water from tap, but that tests 0 for nitrate, I have done oodles of water changes, with no effect. I have a HOB filter and a canister. I have cleaned out the canister recently, and even added stones to reduce nitrate. I...

Any idea what this starburst looking thing is?

Well I just flashed some light on it in the darkened tank, and it pulled itself in like a worm, which surprised me as it didn't look like something that could retract.

Any idea what this starburst looking thing is?

The photo makes it look bigger than it is, it is smaller than a dime, if that helps.

Any idea what this starburst looking thing is?

Closest thing I seem to find is a "Chiton", which would seem to be ok, but not sure...

Any idea what this starburst looking thing is?

Hi all, in the three photos below there is a starburst shaped thing in the middle of the photo on my rock. Sorry about the photo quality, had to take the pic at an angle, and the glass reflected. Should I worry? Doesn't seem to be a featherduster, and though I have some zoas nearby, I have only...

Is this snail good or bad

Thanks, removed....figured anything with a probiscus was bad business.

Is this snail good or bad

Seeing as he had a probiscus sticking out as he was investigating, AND he was out in the dark, it seemed to similar to an Epitonium snail for my liking, so I went with the when in doubt take it out theory...he is currently in a papercup full of saltwater...until his trial is done.

Is this snail good or bad

Just found this little guy while peaking in with the lights off. I know there are some dangerous snails out there, as well as good. Anyone know which this would be. Here are some pics, it is about the diameter of a dime. It's got the color of a Collinista (good) but the shape of a Pyramid Snail...
