Yes he is tank bred but Saltwater.com told me he only accepts pods. No there isn't any rock or substrate in my QT. I didn't think I would need it in there since I'm keeping him there for only a couple weeks. I made a separate breeding tank for the tigger pods and tisbe pods separately.

OK so I have a mandarin in a 5 gallon QT tank. I just received two 6oz. bottles of tigger pods. How much should I feed this litlte guy? Should I start with just half of one of the bottles? There are newly hatched brine in the QT as well but he seems to have lost interest in them.

My camera broke last week….what a coincidence. The female with the "shedding" died yesterday AM. I had already started a medicated treatment in the water but she was already too weak. I'm still treating the male just in case (Lifeguard by Instant Ocean) and he seems to be doing well for now.

Do mandarins shed like reptiles? By the looks it seems as if my mandarin is "shedding".

So I just bought a refractometer & 4 stage RODI PLUS with water saver kit that were on sale on Bulk Reef Supply's site. Unbelieveable as to how inaccurate that hydrometer was....and I've been using it all this time! Hopefully I will see less algae growth and my birdnest coral will start showing...

Yes turn it off. It should say on the label of each medication how long to turn skimmer off.
