I dont think it's really an issue unless it gets to the point that it mounds and starts to cover the rock. can you rearrange a power head to keep the rocks clean with flow?

I had a marineland LED fixture on my 20 gal long. I had a hard time with corals, I would recommend going a different route. That fixture is my sump light now.

I had a remora C hob on my corner and it was awesome. I was fighting a nitrate problem for years as almost gave up, ditched my mechanical filter and nitrates plummeted.

I tried the 2 cup method, my tank was still cloudy for a couple days. I ran some carbon which really helped clear if up faster.

Looking for some more advice- I found someone locally who will sell me 40# of dry rock and a 6' t5 for 150- if I put the dry rock in with everything though do you think it will cycle? I'm going to do all new 'live sand' so that should avoid a cycle from sand.
