    Chemi Pure

I use tap water and add water conditioners (I know...a big NO NO) but saving up funds to get a RODI unit. I do a 20% water change once per month and rinse my poly filter every week. After the 3rdor 4th rinse I put in a totally new polyfilter.

    Amquel plus?

I was thinking of using some amquel plus in my QT. I've been using Nite Out II for the last 3 weeks since my amonia and nitrites are sky high but it doesn'tseem to bring down these levels. On the contrary they seem to be getting higher even with water changes and vacuuming the poop/debri. I'm...

    clownfish breeding

Has anyone tried breeding an orange ocellaris with a black n white ocellaris? If so, what were your results as far as a new breed? I've heard the fry are born true perculas but I don't know if that's fact or theory. I currently have an ocellaris and was thinking of adding a black one to my tank.

    Chemi Pure

My mistake....I looked at my log last night. My filter sponge was changed a month ago (which needs a another change now) and my chemi pure 4 months ago(which also needs changed out now). So I will start with these 2 steps first. Peroxide injections are something I learned about from another...

    Chemi Pure

Okay so I haven't had a cyano outbreak for months up until a few weeks ago. I put chemi pure elite into my filter with direct flow and its been running for a month which should be taking care of the phosphates & silicates ( it says to change chemi bag once every 4 months). It's been 3 weeks...

    Brown Hair Algaea???

I'm glad the hermits are eating your algae. Hopefully this will resolve the problem all the way. If not, just like Northstar says, you need to eliminate phosphate totally and there are many methods to doing so.....

    Brown Hair Algaea???

I see your nitrates are 0....how about nitrites and amonia? As for your shrimp you can put him in a smaller tank or sell him if you're afraid he'll kill your crew or even put him in the refugium. I think your crew will help quite a bit with the algae.

    Brown Hair Algaea???

1st step...I would avoid any dry foods. Many of them are high in phosphates which can and will add to the algae growth. They are good for when you go on vacation to put in an auto feeder if u don't have a sitter. As far as the chaeto, I'm not sure why it could have turned brown. 1. How many fish...
