What do you have to remove nitrates? Filter sounds great but it also sounds like a nitrate factory. Do you have any natural filtration like macro algae?

So I recently got a 3 gallon fuge on my tank. How often should I clean it. It has a ton of algae on the walls and a huge ball of chaeto and rubble rock. I'm assuming these things are made to turn ugly lol

I've sence added 2 more bags of sand so im working with a 3inch +- sand bed now. I can start giving it small peices of raw shrimp as well. I do feed my fish a blended mix of fish, squid, clams and nori and my clowns feed it small portions every now and then but i'll do some direct feeding...

I don't see any sign of splitting but that'd be nice. I've never heard of LTA's splitting in a home tank though. Bubbles yes but never LTA's (i could be wrong lol)

I have an LTA that when i got him was the size of a dinner plate. He's not about the size of a tennis ball. He hasnt lost any color and my params are fine, nitrates, ammonia, nitrites are 0<. I have not spot fed him at all though, Should I start buying a shrmp once a week and spot feeding him that?

i have a 3g hang on refugium that has a massive ammount of chaeto algae in it. Litteraly transformed my tank within 3 weeks. Most of my algae inside the tank are gone, I put carbon on the intake for it and the water is crystal clear. Kicking myself for not setting up one sooner.

Eels have a massive bio load as well so if you're bio filter is holding up to what you have now, that eel will throw it over the edge. I have a 55 as well and if youre params are 100% stable id love to hear how you did this.

lol I haven't tried yet. I'm going to try some of these... to be honest the algae is starting to go away. I finally added a Fuge to my tank with Chateo (not sure how to spell it) algae and its like all my other algae's are just going poof. Im astounded.
