For size requirements I would go to liveaquaria.com. I find that site to be one of the best for them.
Tangs are aggressive and big poopers they need lots of space. You could probably get a kole tang for a 75 gallon though.
When I move out of this apartment and into a house I hope to be able...
If i were you I would start looking into training him to eat frozen. Mine was eating frozen from the start so I cant really help you there. He has gone through stages where he wouldnt eat for 2 weeks though and was fine.
Always know where your lion is! When you get comfortable with them its easy to forget though. I know one day I will get stung, and it will be 100% my fault.
I love my Marty though :)
I honestly doubt it. How hard would it be to have a quick rundown of how to cycle a tank? It reads more complicated then it actually is.
Makes me feel a little bad for those who have lost thousands of dollars worth of livestock due to that show, but only a little ;) So glad I found this site.
I would strongly advise you not to empty the bag water into your tank. When I did that the same thing happened to my fish :( Including the one that was there already.
When you finish acclimatizing just net the fish out of the bag.
Yeah tanked pisses me off. They make it seem like you can have a tank in a day filled with tangs and all. Makes me wonder how many tanks last for more then a week...
Yeah i think its something to do with the salt, I have the API ammonia test and a test that can be used for salt and freshwater and it doesnt do it with the tap water ive tested. Just have to make sure you clean out that test tube good, or they get.... scuzzy
Ditch the glass top, they are not very good for saltwater tanks. You need oxygen exchange and the glass top prevents that from happening. I think there is a sticky in the DIY section for a mesh top.
