+1 cvc Releasing that fish into the ocean will do more harm then good. A public aquarium perhaps?

    Blue Hippo Tangs

A blue tang could survive in a 4 foot tank, but you should see how happy they are in a 6 or 8 foot tank. Considering you get these guys from the ocean (we cant get tangs spawned and raised in the home aquarium) it would be best to give them as much space as possible. They love to zoom around!

    Fluval Edge - LR Tank

I remember reading someones post about the smaller fluval edge (5 gallon or so I think) and the salt creep basically destroyed the wires and want not inside for the light and want not. Do you know how long they had it set up for? The ones I have seen were modified with better lights for corals...

A complete newbie who needs a way to start!

the Aiptasia x is a small bottle of paste like substance, you wont be able to just pour it into the water. I had a tonne of it, I just went about killing what I could and in a day or two I would go on said same rampage. Peppermints werent an option for me because I have a lionfish and peps = lunch.

A complete newbie who needs a way to start!

The aiptasia X comes with a little syringe (no actual needle though) and you turn off the flow and squeeze the aiptasia x into and around its mouth. It usually works pretty well but sometimes you will have to do it a few times

Yup kill it now! Aiptasia X is some good stuff. Edit: the pink stuff is harmless but I forget what it is called. I believe its a filter feeder.

    declorinater in saltwater help

It can be as quick as 2 weeks, or it can take as long as 8. Just keep testing ammonia and nitrite and when both of those are zero you will be able to bring down your nitrates with a water change and get your first fish for the tank.

    declorinater in saltwater help

Thats most likely from the freshwater bacteria. Even though you rinsed it off very well any bacteria left over would have died in the saltwater. Is this a new tank? If so I would just let it cycle, if it is your tank with fish I would start mixing water and get ready to do some water changes.
