Canister Filter for a Reef tank

I see you're getting confused. Check out hang on the back (hob) protein skimmers. You do not need a sump to have a protein skimmer. A sump is merely a second tank that is connected to your main tank. You can put a skimmer in it and your heater. It's not necessary to have a sump. I do not. I just...

Chalk Bass - Yes or No?

I added one a week and a half ago. Seriously cool fish. Out all the time. I wouldn't put 4 in a tank. They'll fight each other.

    Sick blue reef chromis

Day/night is very important. You don't want your lights on for more than 10 hrs a day. You'd have stressed livestock and algae. :(. Good brainstorming though. I know it's hard to have fish not get along...

Marineland Reef LEDs Vs. Finnex FugeRay Aquarium LED Light Plus Moonlights

Ok Mario, you're starting to drive me a bit nuts here. Is there a reason why you have to put growing in quotations? You have no experience with this light and have no reason to be condescending. I had the marineland reef capable for a year and a half and I "grew" blue mushrooms, yellow polyps...

    Sick blue reef chromis

Sadly, there have been many threads identical to thIs. It's a common situation with chromis. Try searching in the search box for chromis and you'll see. They will soon die off. I've lost 6 this way. They are caught with cyanide and not that hardy. Two turtles in Akron, my lfs, says they lose 90%...

    Sarah's new 60 gallon!

Loving the light. It's not perfect but I love the shadows it creates, really makes it look like sunlight splashing thru the water. I got a new fish. Chalk Basslet. He's out and about all the time. Sleeps/lays on the sand in the corner. Weird but really adorable little guy.
