    I need a new skimmer

If it was me, and those were my 3 choices I'd go with the Reef Octopus. Better build quality!

    Best test kits

Hanna checker for phosphate, calcium and Alk. Red Sea for mag. I used API for everything before and was happy with the kit. The Red Sea master kit is also a good kit to use.

    LEDs too close?

LED shoot narrow beam of light, therefore lowering the fixture will actually be worse for your tank. The lowest recommended height I have seen on LED fixtures is 8 inches above the water.

I am planning a group buy soon, sign up on BRS for an account and send me your info. I will include you, which may bring the price down some as well.

    RODI System..what do you recommend?

WTF? I am up at 2:30am and working by 4:00. No one in their right mind is up at those hours, and if you are you are too drunk to remember any way.

Acans being eaten by a red algae

And your phosphates? What food are you feeding? How often? What do you have for flow?

Acans being eaten by a red algae

Test your nitrates and phosphates. Start looking at your food type and how often you feed. Flake and pellet food have a lot of phosphates in them. Symphony as much of the algae out as possible with your water change and then increase your flow to that area.

    how about this led light?

Actually, if this is an Aquatic Life fixture it may be worth it. The company is here in California and they have a great customer service department. I would look for reviews on the light first, as it stated in the eBay ad that it was highly recommended for a fresh water planted aquarium.

    algae in scratches

This takes it out of my scratches. Also gets coralline off and the algae at the very top of the tank. http://www.amazon.com/Algae-Free-Easy-Blade-Scraper/dp/B001DCMKSE

    Colors for LEDs

I don't use the green, at all. I have the green on my Radions turned down to 0. When I had my Rapidled fixture they built it with 12 white and 12 blue. Like yours, it was way too bright, corals struggled with growth. I had them swap out 6 of the whites for UV. The tank took off after that.

    Lighting a 90

What it comes down to is what you can afford, what you want your lighting to do, and if you have the patience to get what you want. The Chinese led bulb is not near in the same league as a Cree, not even close. Also, you need to search out reviews on any and all fixtures you are thinking...
