Under 600.00 for 6 foot of lighting? Best bet is start looking at used units. Any decent light will run minimum 400.00 and you will need a couple at best. Personally, I would look to try and find the Kessil A360 used at around 200.00 per light. You will want to hang 3 over your tank.
You can add fish flakes, or a piece of raw shrimp to the tank. It appears as though the tank has begun it's cycle. The rock does not cycle your tank, your tank breeds the bacteria for the rock to filter your tank.
No! You will take away from the integrity of the tank. The rear chambers are siliconed to the 3 sided glass. The rim both upper and lower help keep the 2 parts together. By removing the upper you are relying on only the silicone to hold the tank together.
I've had several fish jump into my overflows. I will normally just pull the durso and let him drain into the sump. There has been the rare occasion i also had to pull my return and fish him out with a net after draining the overflow.
Becky is right. Whatbyou have are called Rose Anemones. When hsppybthey will stay put. Ifbthey kovevit could be for a varuetynof reasons. Yours look healthy though in your pics.
Hi and welcome. A 55 is going to be too small for a Tang, though you would most likely be able to get away with having just one in there.
Dr. Fosters and Smith have a reef fish compatibility chart. Check there before buying a fosh to make sure you will not have issues.
RO/DI is also deionozed as opposed to just being reverse osmosis. You can absolutely use the RO water from the grocery store for top off. Just be sure they post their dates of maintenence.
Lol. Mine must be a pansy. My yellow lit his ass up, and my purple was twice the size of the yellow.
I think key here is which ever way you do it, do it with the lights out. That is the best way I've found.
It is called an overflow. No, you can not remove it as it is siliconed in place. It would also throw off your overflow as you set your Durso to the level you want it at to keep up with your return pump.
