I was looking at my refugium today and found 3 tiny little starfish. They are dark in color and seem to have bands around the legs. Are these Brittle Starfish? They are about the size of a dime...how big will they get? I'm assuming they came in on the cheato that I got from the LFS the other...

when my tank cycled the ammonia hovered at .25 for a few days and then jumped to 1.0. I would give it some more time, you will probably see the ammonia increase.

I started with 100 lbs. of dead rock and added 5 lbs of live rock to the DT and the fuge during the cycle

I did add a couple of small Green Chromis to the tank today and a couple of corals over the weekend. You can see the Leather Coral in the pic. I put in a Blue Green Ricordea too. I think the water clarity is improving each day.

I added a couple of corals! Ya hoo! now it feels like a saltwater tank... a leather and a blue green ricordea sorry my camera is not the best so these pictures aren't that great. Also the first fish went in today. A couple of small Green Chromis....We will see how this goes for the next...

I have a couple more questions. It looks like I have something either growing or collecting in my saltwater mixing tank If you look close you can see there is some stuff floating on the surface of the water and collecting on the power cords going to the pump. Its pretty slimy and rubs right...
