For someone just starting out I would Highly recommend only having 1 per 10 gallons. Im sure people can have more, I just would not recommend it. Esp when you just figuring out how to take care of a salt water tank.
I just use a coffee mug or just pour. Then I just mix until its right. Never bothered with the measurements on the bag.
Im not sure about your refractometer but mine is one you dont have to get the water to a specific temp, it just tells me to wait 15 secs, then read.
the algae will eat up all the nitrates and phosphates in the making your tests have false negatives. Pretty much if you have algae, you have nitrates and phosphates.
Nice fish! The other little guy probebly didnt make it because he was too small and couldnt handle the stress from the move and kole tang. Glad to hear this one is doing much better :)
she looks nice and fed to me :) The scooter I bought looked like she was wearing a corslet (sp?) poor thing was beyond skinny, and i never did get her fattened up sadly
What do you have in there for water movement?
Im not to sure what you could do tbh, the few times I had this happen sadly it didnt end good :/ If you dont have much surface agitation it could be an oxygen problem, but im not sure if that is the problem.
Did you add them all at once? That could have caused a spike which could have gotten your fish sick.
with a 15 gallon your really only limited to around two fish and it is too small for a yellow angelfish. Also you should be adding them one at a time with 2-3 weeks in between.
Well if your allergic to bees I wouldnt get one. I have had a zebra lionfish for almost a year now and its all about reading his cues, he lets me know when he wants me out of HIS tank :)
