Point your powerhead (the fan like thing) towards the surface of your water until you get a nice little ripple. Also wait a few weeks before you get anymore fish and make sure your tank is the appropriate size for them. Hopefully that helps.

what do you have in there for flow? Maybe the water isnt being moved around enough. How did the fish look before they died? Were they on the bottom gasping?

In my case my falco had to be last added to the tank, they are really territorial. It basically ripped apart anything I tried to add after him. I eventually just got rid of him

I personally wouldnt bother with the denitrate unless your nitrate is really high. Just stick to the water change :)
