    Teds 45 gallon mixed reef

Yes I have a sump with a protein skimmer rock rubble and chaeto, The tank stand is very narrow so space is limited. No room for reactors, I was thinking of a algae scrubber but cant figure out where to put it. I really dont want to have it in the display. Yes things have made a big turn for...

    Living Reefs Action Plan!

Just a few years ago this site did pop up on the first page. Its all a matter about how many people we have posting questions and solutions to problems. One of the big things about this site was also when a newbie came in and asked the questions that most of us take for granted, IE My daughter...

    Controlling Temperature Consistency and Stability

I agree about the controller. Since I have started using a controller my temp stays within a degree. The other benefit of a controller managing your heater is it eliminates the risk of the heater going out in the on position and boiling your tank. This happened to me once I wont run another...

Best way to remove a fish?

One trick that has worked for me is to place the net in the tank for a few days. Anytime you feed the fish feed them in the net, once they become use to the net then you can just net it.

    My 3 Month old aquarium

Your tank is looking really nice, I think the best thing you have for this hobby is patience. That combine with your research will take you far. I constantly have to tell myself that nothing good happens fast in a reef tank. I look forward to seeing your next update.

Upgrading my tank, need your help.

My biggest issue with a 55 is how narrow it is, I have this issue with my 45. A 75 or 90 will give you more front to back space which is great in the display and a must in the stand. It is a real issue fitting a sump in a narrow stand. Narrow stand means smaller sump which means smaller skimmer...

    New Gyer unpacked tonight !!

Any new product will have to work out a few bugs, This one does show a heck of a lot of potential though and at the price point plus only needing one has raised my eyebrows

    Teds 45 gallon mixed reef

Ok....well a lot has changed in my life and my tanks life. I am in a stable relationship and have moved. So the tank made a move....good news is she loves fish keeping, bad news is the tank looks awful. I have a major hair algae issue, which is understandable. My old T5 light bit the dust so I...
