The only thing worse would be putting an anenome in either one.

I only have VHO lighting and my derasa and he does great.

I had one a few years back. He started nipping on my corals and had to go back to the LFS. Got along with the fish though.

Mine had his own bed at nite time.

One thing to consider is that they need cooler temps. Somewhere between 70 and 74 degrees. Also IMO they need to be in a species only tank. They wont be able to compete for the food. I would also suggest 15 gallons per SH. JME

It`s called sloughing. All leathers do from time to time.

They can also feed on fish waste also.

After you do your cycle and then do about a 33% PWC. Your tank will full of nitrates after the cycle and you`ll need to get rid of as much as you can with a big PWC and then frequent one after that.

In a 6 foot tank you should be OK.

I dont feed my frogspawn or hammer either. They get all they need from the lighting and water column. Both of mine are over ten yrs old.
