    my newist addition

I love my LMB...he just sits and watches :D But once he learned about the algae sheets, it was hard to get him to clean the algae off the rocks LOL

    disabled aquarisit needs advice

I don't see the responses that way (except for one or 2). Most responses are giving suggestions (which he did in fact ask for) on how to make things easier. But definite +1 on canister filters being useless in the hobby -- while they can be used successfully in the hobby, they tend to be...

    Flukes and Small Fish

I did a FW dip once. I don't remember how, but I know that I had to match the temp and ph to the tank. I ended up buying some ph up to match it, and got the temp just right. The black ich on my fish did indeed drop off, but he did not survive the stress. I think I left him in there for maybe...

salinity a little high what do I do?

Are you topping off w/ saltwater or freshwater? Your lfs' saltwater should be on the mark at around 1.024-1.026, and if your salinity is creeping up, either you're not topping off, or your topping off w/ saltwater. Also, did you calibrate your refractometer? If it's none of the above, I'd...

Scooter blenny missing after tank transfer

I've know little fish to wedge themselves in rock crevices. In fact, I ended up buying a rock w/ mushrooms because the goby i wanted would not leave the rock for anything. Even after we took the rock out and put it in a container of water, he would not leave it. It was a day or so after...

    Royal Gramma Dilema

Some here have had success fishing for them -- I don't know what type of hook they used, though. I've had success catching my kole tang using a simple trap-and-fishline technique. Took a week to get the tang to trust the container with food in it before I sat far away, waited for him to go in...

d2mini's Epic Fantabulous New Reef Build

It looks crooked........:11:  Looks like your tank's got its own alarm system...mayhaps to keep a certain tall 4-pawed friend from licking? LOL Hahah..I always thought the same thing.

salinity a little high what do I do?

+1 2xai....if it's empty, go ahead and add enough rodi or distilled until it's the right level. If you have livestock, you shouldn't lower it too fast, although, fish can usually handle a quick drop in salinity (inverts and corals won't though). Raising salinity rapidly is harder for them to...

    OK Whats up!

I doubt it's voltage if the inverts and corals seem fine. But if you just got them, it's possible they just couldn't handle the move, like the LFS said. How did you acclimate? Were they eating at the lfs? Unfortunately, it happens. If you continue to get fish that die, maybe it's the lfs...

    Help with Purple Algae Bloom

I only see 1 powerhead pointing up. You'll want 2 powerheads pointing down just enough to graze the sand bed without disturbing the sand. You have a HOB filter? Hopefully it's making enough ripples on the surface for O2 exchange.

    Well First Cyano Outbreak

Oh, yeah, that's definitely a lot of food. I would use just a quarter of the cube, if that even. What I do is take a bunch of cubes, cute them up to smaller pieces, then store then back in a container. I do that for 2 weeks' worth of feeding, so that way, I really only get messy twice a month.

    FINALLY!!! (equipment/stock list)

Well, wrasse aside, that's overstocked already with 14 fish. Trim it back to 10 fish, and you should be fine. Remember to go slow.

Should deconstruct my live rock to look for a dead fish?

I'd skip the starfish if you have nitrates. They're very sensitive to nitrates.

    Citron Clown Goby starving

He should eat them. It's damned if you do, damned if you don't time -- leave him, he might starve to death. Move him, he might die from the stress or if he survives the move, at least he'll have pods to eat and hopefully fatten him up. But wait, is the 10g already cycled? Anyone else in the...
