I have considered that but I was really looking for consistency you know...the last WC I did was last week, I added the solution to the numbers I wanted and by the time a week was up my calcium was below 400 and alk had dropped to almost 7's
I guess I could do just WC's but really wanted a less...
so I tested today, 3 days after my water change and these were the numbers
after WC: CAL 450, ALK 9.6, MAG 1400
Today CAL 450, ALK 8.7, Mag 1340
does it make sense that mag would drop that fast along with alk but my calcium is the same?
here are some updated pics...some of the zoas are reaching or half and half open/closed, not sure why
In the second pic, you can see that small colony of zoas to the left, one polyp fully opens all day and the others are halfway or closed
The sol is nice but not sure if I need more spectrum
My zoas are all reaching for light though, I am only running 40, 45, 44 percent for the 3 channels
Decent light fixture and a rodi unit to purify the water
The lights are key, rodi is a must to some people but there are tanks who run tap water...just make sure you test your tap water for copper, nitrates and ammonia first
A resctor is something you put carbon and gfo into...its used to clear the water, pull out any chemicals and lower phosphates
An ato is a auto top off...this puts fresh water back in a tank when evaporation occurs
