    Bulbs

Or maybe I'll swap out the aquablue special with another coral plus. Coral plus is a slightly whiter bulb right? Is it more white than purple plus?

    Bulbs

So I have a 6 bulb fixture over my 90 gallon. I want a color that is more blue than white, but can support good growth as well. I want a color that will make my corals pop as well as letting the fish have a nice bright color. Maybe also let it seem bright to the eye. Do you think this bulb...

Just saying, but mandarins are very picky eaters and are hard to take care of, unless you find one that eats frozen food. That is why I've held off on a mandarin for a long time and done TONS of research. I've read that they are ok with almost all other peaceful fish, just not their own kind...

    First timer questions

I think I answered most of your questions, but I don't really know about the stand. For a 55 gallon it would be best to stick with only 5 or 6 fish, maybe 7 eventually. So you probably need to cut down on your wish list. Hope it helps! Others will chime in.

    Marine Cuisine vs Emerald Entree

Is marine more for carnivores and entree for herbivores? It seems like there might be a few more veggies in the entree.

How do you feed your mandarin? Do you just put the food in the water column and let t feed like the other fish? Or do you spot feed it?

Soft Corals for Black Clowns to Host?

Maybe a toadstool or fuzzy mushroom, euphyllia (hammers, torch, frogspawn), green star polyps. Most corals such as the ones I listed don't need to be fed and can grow just by using light.

Adding a Sump to my existing tank...HELP!

Yes it would. I just don't use a sock because I have to clean it so often and it cuts down on the flow.

Canister Filter for a Reef tank

Yup pretty much. And a section of it can be used for a refugium to grow macro algae and raise copepods and stuff.

Adding a Sump to my existing tank...HELP!

In my refugium I have fern caulerpa, chaeto, mangroves, caulerpa prolifera, and I'm about to get grape caulerpa. You don't really need sand for any of these plants. Off the top of my head, I can't think of a macro algae that needs sand. For example, chaeto is just a ball of stuff so you can...

Canister Filter for a Reef tank

A sump also increases your water volume, which is pretty helpful so that the fluctuations are much smaller.

Adding a Sump to my existing tank...HELP!

I would also prefer bare bottom in the refugium. It makes cleaning up so much easier. That way you can clearly see whatever you need to siphon out.
