I keep mine at 80 ± .5°. Get that temp up and get your salinity to 35 ppt and you shouldn't have any problems. FWIW, I don't acclimate snails. Floating is all.

Then if your salinity is dropping rapidly, that would probably be it. What's your temp?

I would do the yellow tang first, the blue tang last and the 6 line should also be bottom of the list, too.

+1 to the above. Low salinity would be a start, try raising that. Natural sea water averages 35 ppt, or about 1.0264. Of course, like they said above, stability is more important than the exact number, so if you find it dropping that rapidly, you may look into an auto top-off or at least make...

I wouldn't personally risk it. I went with the ReefBreeders value fixture for $180 shipped and I really like it. My SPS are doing well under it, as are my zoas/palys and LPS. I don't know much about those fixtures to recommend them or not, but like I said, its a risk I'm not willing to take...

Yep. Less of a change is less of a shock. I guess if it works, then its fine, but small changes are easier and they keep levels better (you may end up dosing less). I do 4-5 gallons every Saturday on my 40.

$20 is cheap, other LFS sell them for $25-35. Box of salt (Reef Crystals) is $55, or $75 at the expensive stores.

Uhhhh, yeah. Lol I just got a peppermint yesterday for $4.99. And an inch frag of green Slimer for $5, both from my LFS. I think Petco has peps for $7.99 and the other good LFS is $11.99.

If you have a 1000 litre tank, I would just do 100 litres weekly. That would be plenty.
